Vineyard Notes:
The 2007 growing season proved to be another stellar landmark for Washington State. The growing season started very quickly, encouraged by warm temperatures in late spring. The summer was perfect-consistent and warm-allowing for an ample fruit set and slow, even ripening. During the middle of September, temperatures cooled, allowing us to pick the fruit at its peak ripeness.

Winemaker Notes:
As with its predecessor, our second vintage of Svelte is a Bordeaux blend that showcases the inimitable flavor of Eastern Washington. The wine gets its smooth tannins and cassis-like element from Cabernet Sauvignon grown in the Columbia Valley. The Petit Verdot adds a concentrated ripe fruit note and structure. The Merlot and Malbec deliver aromatics and complexity. This is rich, opulent wine packed with cherries, blackberries, cedar, plums and spice.

Food Pairing:
Balanced and graceful it drinks well now and will continue to evolve with additional aging. Serve with steaks, roasts or grilled lamb.
