"Although there's quite a lot of Petit Verdot (12%), which can often dominate a Bordeaux blend, here it slides right in, adding graceful scents of violets at the top and stiffening the tannins with some meaty, smoky flavors and a bit of licorice at the end. This is smooth and supple, a lovely blend of fruit, flower, stone and soil, that is accessible yet substantial enough to tuck away for a few years."
