Vintage

The 2006 growing season proved to be another great one for Washington State. The wet spring led us to nearly ideal weather throughout the growing season. Warm consistent summer days with cool nights ripened the fruit. In mid-September the temperatures cooled allowing the fruit to mature nicely

Vineyard

Champoux Vineyard is located just North of the Columbia River in the Horse Heaven Hills appellation, known for its rich Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Due to its proximity to the Columbia Gorge, many vineyards in this appellation are exposed to fierce winds whipping through the valley, which lessen the risk of fungal diseases and thicken the grape skins, producing rich, tannic wines.

Food Pairing: Pair with a standing rib roast, well-marbled steaks or dark chocolate.
